I asked one of our customers who’s been a teacher for a number of years to write this post for us. Thanks, Barb!
November is parent-teacher conference month for many school districts. Often this is the first meeting for the parent and they are concerned about how to put their best foot forward. While it isn’t necessary to "dress up" for the meeting, first impressions are important to set a positive tone. More schools have a casual dress code than ever before, so it’s okay not to stress over your wardrobe. Nice slacks or dark-wash trouser jeans are appropriate when paired with boots or shoes
with a bit of a heel, and a sweater with matching jacket will look sharp. If your appointment doesn’t allow for you to go home and change after work, it’s always fine to wear your work clothes, whatever your profession may be. We, as teachers, are happy to know that you care enough to come. Like you, we are most concerned about how we can help your child become all that he or she can be. Happy conferencing!
