These Frame Forever Karlie Tall Skinny Jeans are really long. They have a 34.5" inseam which doesn't sound that tall, but it is because these are skinny jeans and your skinny jean inseam is way shorter than your bootcut/straight leg/flared jean inseam, remember? (If you don't know this, read the post How Long Should Skinny Jeans Be? You'll discover that my skinny jean inseam is 4 whole inches shorter than my normal inseam length.) These jeans will actually pool at the bottom unless you have a normal inseam length that is longer than 38", which is really rare. Find more tall skinny jeans at SearchByInseam.com.
This is written by Amanda, who is a childhood friend and was given a pair of petite jeans in exchange for writing this review. I’m too tall to review petite jeans myself! 🙂
Worst things to experience for me: 1. wet socks; 2. bra shopping; 3. jeans shopping…until I discovered Search By Inseam!
For me, it has been challenging since junior high school to find jeans that fit my inseam. Then, since my curves have grown curvier in my thirties, the challenge to find jeans that fit both my waist and inseam – and that don’t have too much stretch that cause sagging crotch – has become even greater.
Finally though, the solution has been found! Eddie Bauer StayShape Jeans live up to the promise to be jeans that “fit you perfectly, and always keep their shape.” I have been wearing the petite jeans with a 30 inch inseam, straight leg, and dark wash once a week for just over a month. The jeans have been washed a few times and have kept their shape.
Initially, I was shocked at how dark the dark wash really was. All my other dark washes at least have had a faded area at the top of the thighs. Once I got over the shock of an all-over dark wash, I found that I really had several items in my closet that work well with the look, and it’s a more professional look than the others in my collection. [Amanda is a teacher.]
I chose straight leg because everything else I have is either skinny or boot cut and I wanted something more versatile with my footwear. I can wear the jeans with flats, ankle boots, long boots (under the pant leg – haven’t tried over the leg yet and probably won’t) and on those days when I’m walking right after work or running errands with my four year old, sneakers.
Did I mention that the jeans really are comfortable? No sagging crotch. The waist band stays in place – no hiking up the waist every time I stand up or as I’m walking.
Best things to experience for me: 1. hugs and snuggles with my son; 2. everything about being a mom to my son; 3. jeans shopping through Search By Inseam.
Can you believe the first quarter of 2017 is already in the books? Crazy. I thought it would be good to check in with myself and see how I’m doing on my new year’s resolution. How’s that for accountability? 🙂
My goal for 2017 was to review more products for my customers and readers. So far this year, I’ve posted 14 reviews. Last year, I wrote 4 reviews total. Yay me! The thing that’s been most surprising to me is how fun it is to do the reviews. Yes, I get to try out new clothes and I knew that would be fun, but I’ve really enjoyed writing up the reviews, having new and interesting content, and working with my friend and husband who’ve both been photographers for me. It’s really nice working face-to-face with people when the majority of my work on the site is just me and my computer.
Expect more reviews in the next three quarters because it’s fun for me and I’ve seen positive feedback and site traffic trends. Thank you to reader Carol for contributing her review in the first quarter, too!

I bought this Gap Women’s Utility Jacket in Spring Coral last month and it’s huge! I love the color, but how can this be a small? I cinched it up as much as I could, but it’s just too bulky to be flattering. The fabric is stiff, which I expected, but smells like petroleum. It also looks like it’s all pockets to me. So I’m sad to be sending this back, but it’s just not going to work for me. Gap, when you make something this oversize, please make it in a Tall Extra Small. That might have worked for me. You make a Regular Extra Small, so why not do that with a tall size as well? Just because we are tall doesn’t mean we are also large.
I’ve been wearing some old Hot Chillys ski leggings and finally decided to get something new. My old ones are a high rise and they aren’t comfortable anymore. I found these Leggings Depot Ultra Soft Basic Solid Plain Best Seller Leggings Pants for just $9.99 and thought I’d take a chance. No inseam was listed and they are “one size fits all” so it was a risk. I am happy to report that they fit me well! I measured them to find out that they have a 27″ inseam length. This is deceiving, because they stretch quite a bit. They reach down to my ankle bone, which I’ve measured before at a 31″ inseam (see my post How Long Should Skinny Jeans Be?). These leggings are super soft and feel like suede! I bought them in black (and need to get some black flats now to match!) but they come in lots of colors. These new Chandler Flare Jeans from Paige Denim have a cute tie belt that can be removed. They are made of lightweight denim and have a retro 70’s vibe. With a long 35.5″ inseam length, even tall girls can wear these jeans with platform heels! Find more women’s tall jeans with 35.5″ inseams at SearchByInseam.com.
Who doesn’t love great denim at a great price? Blank Denim jeans are almost always under $100 and often start as low as $75. The denim is high quality and considered designer denim, even though it doesn’t have a price tag to match. Check out our selection of Blank Denim jeans here including coated, ripped, grey, black, raw hem, and velvet. I love the pair of Blank Skinny Jeans I have, picture below. This is the Marc New York Thea Red Puffer Vest I’ve been wearing from Rent the Runway for the last 3 weeks or so. It’s super warm and has a detachable fur hood. I’ve worn it with and without the hood and really appreciate that flexibility. I’ve gotten lots of compliments on this vest and its bright red color. It could be a little taller for my long torso, but it works pretty well. I actually thought about buying it, but why buy when I can rent and not worry about storing it all summer? I’ll just rent it again in the fall if I’m wanting to wear it more. The vest retails for $98. I got it as part of my Unlimited subscription, which is $139 a month and allows me to rent 3 items at a time for as long as I want. (Get $25 off your first rental or first month of subscription right now using promo code FIRSTRTR25P). I’m wearing it here with my Eddie Bauer Tall Long-sleeve Crewneck T-shirt (review here) and Joe’s Jeans.
I took a risk on these and it paid off! I normally wear a 35″ inseam so I wasn’t sure if these would be long enough in a 34.75″ inseam, but they are perfect! The Paige Transcend Manhattan Boot Cut Jeans have a lot of stretch to them, so they’re super comfy. The medium dark blue wash is perfect for everyday and I can easily dress these up or down. The back pockets are plain and they have a boot cut leg, but they are more of a baby boot cut. Photo by Jason Henderson.
